I’m Published?

So I’ve been sitting on this news for quite a while. I’m officially a writer now! A short story I wrote was published in an anthology by Oxford University Press. It’s called ‘I’ll Find My Way’ and my story is called ‘Step Into My Ruby Shoes’. I received the email telling me this ages ago, but didn’t want to share until I actually SAW my book in print, which I did, yesterday.

The book was launched at the Karachi Literature Festival yesterday. And we went and bought fourteen copies! 😉 Gotta give one to all those people I love. The bad thing? They didn’t even give ME a free copy. :/ Well, anyway.

I’M PUBLISHED.

Busy, Busy, Busy but Great News Too!!

I’m so sorry about not posting! I’ve been super busy. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the camera wasn’t working and then on Thursday, my computer kinda died and I have no idea how to blog from the tab. Yesterday I wasn’t home the entire day. Ugh, so much activity.

Anyway, here are the pictures I promised and then, after that, some great news! (squee)

Cat Sitting

Image

So busy this weekend, sitting for this neighbour’s Persian. Her name is Lucy and she’s simply adorable. She goes back home tomorrow and I’ll miss her so.

I was able to make quite a few cards this weekend which I shall be sharing with you tomorrow!

Love and hugs,

Nuzhat.

Back to school & some Projects

It’s back to school again for me! Its super cold in the mornings and after all these days of getting up at 11 when you can go and sit in the sun as soon as you’re awake are gone. However, some good news as well – I’m getting a 93 per cent in my Economics exam which is amazing considering how little I studied the day before since I was rushing all around the city to get X-rays done for my cat because he had broken AND displaced his knee cap!

Back to school also means I have some new orders on the line – twelve cards, a notebook and a folder! So that’s something you can look forward to since as soon as the weekend starts, I should be making all these things and will obviously upload them here. I am also contemplating buying some new stash and am always on http://www.acherryontop.com to see what I can get – everything is so pretty but so expensive! I’m loving the new Studio Calico Storytime collection so I’m definitely getting that 6×6 pad! Let’s see what else ends up in my basket. I definitely need some jewels and pearls as well.

Love and hugs,

Nuzhat.

New Year’s Resolution

I feel so guilty about not blogging for the past half year. First I was resitting some exams and then life got really rough. I just couldn’t find the time or energy to update my blog. However, it’s a new year, a new beginning and I hope that 2014 will prove better for me than 2013 did.

I hope to get this blog up and running and there will definitely be a change around here – maybe a new layout, new ideas, new projects! I’m very excited. I hope to get the Spotlight series back up, and I will be posting new cards and mini albums soon.

In the meantime, you can follow me on Instagram (kitscard) where I regularly update my crafty stuff. You can also look me up on facebook! http://www.facebook.com/kitscard

Love and hugs,

Mini Album – Snippets of Us (without journalling)

I recently found some old writing paper. It was a very good quality white paper but it was not ruled! So I thought I would make a mini book out of it. My approach to this was minimalistic, I based the entire book around some journalling cards from Echo Park. And with a few other bits and pieces, of course, the book was complete. The binding is simply a piece of book tape (double sided tape and a page from a book!) to join each pair of pages together. I closed it with a bit of twine knotted across the front. Don’t you just adore that glitter heart?!

Image

I made a bit of a mistake on the second page! I miscalculated where the binding was going to be and placed my elements very near it! Oh well.

But don’t you just love the confetti pocket!

Lots of distressing and layering on that page!

Don’t you just love the cut heart?
